App Store

Mac screenshot size rejected

Mac App Store screenshots must be exactly 1280 × 800, 1440 × 900, 2560 × 1600 or 2880 × 1800, all 16:10. Window captures and 16:9 displays produce other sizes, so place the capture on a 16:10 canvas and export at one of those sizes.

“One of the following, with a 16:10 aspect ratio: 1280 × 800, 1440 × 900, 2560 × 1600, 2880 × 1800 pixels.”

You’ll see this when…

  • A window capture has an odd size such as 2400 × 1530.
  • A capture from a 16:9 display is 3840 × 2160.

How to fix it

  1. Pick one of the four sizes for the whole set.
  2. Place the window capture on a 16:10 canvas (with or without a Mac frame).
  3. Export at that exact size.
