Screenshot dimensions are wrong
App Store Connect only accepts screenshots whose pixel size exactly matches one listed for that display slot, such as 1320 × 2868 for the 6.9-inch iPhone group. Resize or re-export to an accepted size; a single pixel off is enough to fail.
“Each display group lists the screenshot sizes it accepts, in portrait and landscape.”
You’ll see this when…
- The upload is refused for its dimensions.
- You dropped an iPad screenshot into an iPhone slot (or the reverse).
- A design tool exported at @2x or @3x of the wrong base size.
How to fix it
- Check the file with the size checker; it names the slot each accepted size belongs to.
- If the aspect ratio is right but the size is off, resize to the exact size with the resizer tool.
- If the aspect ratio is wrong, re-lay out the screen on the right canvas instead of stretching.
- Use the export presets in AppShotEditor (e.g. iPhone 6.9" Display, 1320 × 2868).
Frequently asked questions
What sizes does App Store Connect accept for iPhone?
The 6.9-inch group accepts 1320 × 2868, 1290 × 2796 and 1260 × 2736 (portrait). Every group’s sizes are on our App Store sizes page.
Can I upload a screenshot that is close enough?
No. The size has to match exactly.
Why does my simulator screenshot fail?
Simulator captures match that device’s native size. If it belongs to another group (for example 1179 × 2556 is the 6.3-inch group), upload it in that group’s slot or resize it for the slot you need.
