Missing a required screenshot size
Apple lists two required groups: iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display), 1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556, and the 13-inch iPad, 2064 × 2752 or 2048 × 2732, if your app runs on iPad. Upload those, or rely on the documented fallbacks from a larger set where Apple allows it.
“To submit your app: iPhone — at least one screenshot for iPhone with Dynamic Island (medium display); iPad (if your app supports iPadOS) — at least one screenshot for the iPad 13-inch display.”
You’ll see this when…
- App Store Connect shows a required screenshot slot as empty.
- Your iPhone-only app was accidentally marked as supporting iPad.
How to fix it
- Upload at least one 6.3-inch (1206 × 2622 or 1179 × 2556) iPhone screenshot, or a 6.9-inch set if App Store Connect accepts it as the fallback for your app.
- If your app runs on iPad, upload 13-inch iPad screenshots.
- If you don’t support iPad, remove iPad from the build’s supported devices.
Frequently asked questions
Is the 6.9-inch iPhone size required?
Apple’s required list names the 6.3-inch group (Dynamic Island, medium display). The 6.9-inch group is the largest and is used as a fallback source.
Do I need iPad screenshots?
Only if your app runs on iPad. Then the 13-inch size is required.
What about iPhone Duo?
Apple notes that screenshots will be required for apps using the iOS 27.1 SDK or later starting April 2027.
