App Store

Rejected under Guideline 2.3.10

Guideline 2.3.10 rejects App Store metadata that includes names, icons or imagery of other mobile platforms, which in screenshots usually means an Android phone frame or a Google Play badge. Use Apple device frames (or none) and remove other platforms’ names.

“Don’t include names, icons, or imagery of other mobile platforms or alternative app marketplaces in your app or metadata, unless there is specific, approved interactive functionality.”

You’ll see this when…

  • A screenshot shows an Android phone or a Pixel frame.
  • Copy says “Also on Android” or shows a Google Play badge.
  • One cross-platform set was reused for both stores.

How to fix it

  1. Make a separate App Store set with Apple frames.
  2. Remove other store badges and platform names from headlines.
  3. Keep the Google Play set separate (it has its own 9:16 sizes anyway).

Frequently asked questions

Can my App Store screenshots mention Android?

No. Guideline 2.3.10 bars names, icons or imagery of other mobile platforms in metadata, unless there is approved interactive functionality.

Can I reuse my Google Play screenshots on the App Store?

Not if they show Android devices or Play badges. Sizes differ too: App Store iPhone sizes are taller than Google Play’s 2:1 limit allows.

Does this apply to app previews too?

Yes. Previews are metadata, and Guideline 2.3.4 also limits them to screen captures of the app.
