Preparing iPhone Duo screenshots
iPhone Duo has two screenshot sizes, 1398 × 2034 for the outer display and 2007 × 2853 for the inner one, and Apple notes that starting in April 2027 screenshots will be required for any app using the iOS 27.1 SDK or later. Lay out each display on its own canvas; their ratios differ.
“Starting in April 2027, screenshots will be required for any app using the iOS 27.1 SDK or later.”
You’ll see this when…
- You build with the iOS 27.1 SDK and plan to update after April 2027.
- Your app supports the inner display layout.
How to fix it
- Capture both displays, in the simulator or on a device.
- Make one set per display (aspect 0.687 outer, 0.703 inner).
- Check how your UI handles the fold on the inner display before you capture.
Frequently asked questions
Are iPhone Duo screenshots required now?
Apple’s page doesn’t mark them required today; its note says they will be required from April 2027 for apps using the iOS 27.1 SDK or later.
Can I stretch my iPhone screenshots to Duo sizes?
No. The Duo displays are much wider than other iPhones; stretching distorts the UI.
Does AppShotEditor have an iPhone Duo frame?
Not yet. Use a custom canvas at the same ratio for now.
