App preview rejected
Apple rejects app previews that use anything other than screen captures of the app (Guideline 2.3.4), and App Store Connect refuses files outside 15–30 seconds or at the wrong resolution, such as anything but 886 × 1920 for the 6.9-inch iPhone group. Re-record from the app and export at an accepted resolution.
“Previews may only use video screen captures of the app itself. You can add narration and video or textual overlays to help explain anything that isn’t clear from the video alone.”
You’ll see this when…
- The preview includes live-action footage or other apps.
- It is shorter than 15 or longer than 30 seconds.
- It is exported at the device’s native resolution instead of an accepted preview size.
How to fix it
- Record from the Simulator or device.
- Trim to 15–30 seconds.
- Export at the accepted resolution for each size (e.g. 886 × 1920 portrait for the 6.9-inch group, 1200 × 1600 for iPad 13-inch).
- Keep it under 500 MB and at most 30 fps.
