Feature graphic rejected
A Google Play feature graphic must be exactly 1024 × 500 px, JPEG or 24-bit PNG with no alpha channel. Fix the size and format first, then check the content rules: no ranking or price words, no store badges, and keep key elements away from the edges.
“JPEG or 24-bit PNG (no alpha). Dimensions: 1024px by 500px.”
You’ll see this when…
- The upload is refused for size or format.
- The graphic is cropped badly in some Play surfaces.
- Text like “#1” or “Free” is on the graphic.
How to fix it
- Resize to exactly 1024 × 500 with the feature graphic sizer.
- Export as JPEG or a PNG without alpha.
- Move the logo and tagline toward the centre.
- Remove “Best”, “#1”, “Free”, badges and device imagery.
Frequently asked questions
Can the feature graphic be larger than 1024 × 500?
No. It must be exactly 1024 × 500 px.
Can I show a phone in the feature graphic?
Google asks you to avoid device imagery there.
Why is my feature graphic cropped?
Some formats cut the edges; Google marks cut-off zones and asks you to keep key elements centred.
