App icon (store)

The store app icon is the image shown next to your listing in search and on the product page. Google Play requires a 512 × 512 px, 32-bit PNG (with alpha) of up to 1024 KB; on the App Store the icon comes from your app’s asset catalog.

Note the contrast with screenshots: Google’s icon may have alpha, while its screenshots and feature graphic may not.
